My Work at LiveTiles
LiveTiles is a global SaaS company that specializes in creating digital employee experience (EX) platforms used by organizations around the world. During my time at LiveTiles, I worked as a UX/UI Designer, contributing to a wide range of projects across their product suite.
While the specifics of my work are protected under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), I can share that my responsibilities spanned the full design process—from wireframing and prototyping to user testing and collaborating closely with product and engineering teams. I had the opportunity to contribute to feature enhancements, interface design, and user experience improvements across multiple products.

My Role
🔍 1. Research & Discovery
For each new task or feature request, I began with thorough research:
Conducted competitive analysis, peer product reviews, and user feedback analysis.
Gathered insights through stakeholder interviews, surveys, and direct user input.
Assessed existing design libraries or, in cases where libraries were incomplete (as with a new product I worked on), defined new components as needed.
🧩 2. Design System & Information Architecture
Reviewed existing product design systems to maintain consistency and reusability.
Identified appropriate UI components, iconography, and language.
Used Miro for mapping out user journeys and collaborating with the wider team on larger features—enabling asynchronous input and discussion.
✏️ 3. Wireframes & User Flows
Created initial user flows and wireframes through sketches to visualize the full journey, including dialogs, pop-ups, and edge cases.
Defined user needs, entry points, and outcomes for each task.
🎨 4. Prototyping & Stakeholder Reviews
Developed low- to mid-fidelity prototypes using Adobe XD and Figma.
Presented early concepts to stakeholders for feedback and iterated as needed based on technical or UX concerns.
Conducted multiple feedback loops before finalizing designs.
✅ 5. Final UI & Handoff
Refined visual designs to high fidelity—ensuring accessibility, visual clarity, and functional usability.
Delivered production-ready UI and specs to development teams and provided ongoing design support during implementation.
Participated in sprint reviews and regularly presented new designs company-wide to share progress and collect feedback.
Tools & Software I Used
Throughout my role at LiveTiles, I used a range of industry-standard tools to support the entire UX process—from research and design to collaboration and delivery.
🛠 Design & Prototyping
Figma – Primary tool for UI design, prototyping, and component library management.
Adobe XD – Used for high-fidelity prototyping and interactive mockups.
Miro – Ideal for mapping user journeys, conducting remote workshops, and capturing cross-team input.
Pen & Paper – Often used for quick ideation, sketching flows, and early-stage concept development.
📈 Project & Sprint Management
Azure DevOps (via SharePoint) – Used to manage:
Sprints and task tracking
User stories and personas
Sprint planning and retrospectives
💬 Communication & Collaboration
Microsoft Teams and Slack – Daily communication with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Outlook & Office 365 – For email, documentation, and file sharing.
🌐 Internal Testing & Validation
LiveTiles Reach – Our own digital workplace platform, used internally as a testbed for new features. This gave us the opportunity to experience, evaluate, and refine our designs in a live, real-world environment before public release.
Product 1: Internal Communication Platform
The first product I contributed to is a SaaS internal communication platform designed to foster corporate and social interactions within organizations. Available on both mobile and web, it also integrates seamlessly as a sidebar component within Microsoft Teams.
This platform enables employees to chat, share news articles and posts, create and manage events, store documents and pages, and explore organizational directories—essentially functioning as a private, company-exclusive social network, akin to a corporate-focused Facebook.
Product 2: New Product Development
The second product was a brand-new platform in development, offering me significant creative autonomy as the sole UX designer on the project. Working closely with the development team, I was responsible for designing all user flows, UI elements, and interactions from the ground up.
With limited initial user stories, I had the exciting challenge of crafting the entire design system, including components, cards, buttons, and dialog windows—shaping the product’s core user experience from concept to implementation.
Product 3: Microsoft SharePoint Custom Solutions
The third product involved designing custom plugin applications and tailored sites within Microsoft SharePoint. My role focused on creating seamless and user-friendly extensions that enhance the SharePoint environment to meet specific organizational needs.
